An Oasis in the Desert: Exploring the Lush Beauty of Vegas' Hidden Pocket Parks

This gorgeous public park on the strip in Vegas was a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle. It was an inviting oasis and had it all with stone paving, scultural elements seating and a rich palette of landscape plants adapted to the arid conditions. I am always measuring dimensions of landscape elements. The rise and run of stairs is of particular importance as they really affect the feel and experience of going up and down stairs. Landscape architects typically try for a 6" rise to 12" run where space permits.

A wonderful fountain with a suface layer of decorative pebbles to give juxtaposition to the surrounding arid landscape.

Beautiful seating in simulated sedimentary stone with flagstone paving and wonderful shade to create a landscape oasis on the strip!
